The usually start in July, you can double check on Isis.

I’m so happy for you! Welcome to the Gator Nation! Definitely aim for the freshman/lower level classes. Summer is relaxed but classes go by much quicker than in Fall. Lower levels will be easier to handle and you’ll be surrounded by other Freshman! It would be a great way to make friends! :)

They’re definitely not cutting liberal arts! It’s one of the largest colleges in the university so cutting it would be silly. They may be tightening the budget which means you may have less access to courses, but I don’t think that’s the case as we just got a huge endowment from the state. To make sure, I would call the Anthropology department and talk to them about what courses they offer. Maybe UF doesn’t even have the course you need.
Anonymous said: Hey! In general, where can I get cute UF/Gators clothes? Not the bookstore I mean like in South Florida and such. I'm an incoming freshman and I want some cute things :) Victoria's Secret used to stock stuff but the one near me stopped and either way their stuff was so expensive. But I liked that style, and I also LOVE the vintage looking stuff (Retro Brand is also pretty pricey though, and hard to find)
Yes! Gator clothing are adorable. I think Forever 21 may have had some t-shirts and Target as well. Just in case you can always order clothes online at the bookstore. They really do have the best selection. :)
jileystyler said: Do you know if uf will let me live in florida for a year before applying to uf to be considered an in state student (and pay in-state tuition.) or do i have to graduate from a high school in Florida???
I think to be considered a Florida resident you have to live here a year and have proof of address, such as a bill or a license to show it. :)
I would call UF and ask them just to be sure. They’re pretty nice and they’ll have the best information.

Friendless at UF?
I have been at the University of Florida for about a year and a half. I have made no friends. I can go days without talking to other people. I am shy and a little awkward. What should I do? I want friends but even acquaintances would make me happy at this point. I miss having conversations with people.
What you’re describing is one of the best and worst aspects of UF. There are days where I love walking around knowing no one will recognize me and I can just slip in and out of class unnoticed. However, it can get lonely sometimes.
This may sound incredibly cliche and dumb, but find an interest that you like and then connect it to a school club. Most of them are really interesting and you can attend meetings without feeling too much pressure. Once you feel comfortable enough to speak up, then you will.
That’s how I found friends since I lived off campus.
I wish you the best of luck, and seriously don’t worry about putting yourself out there. What I’ve noticed in the past 3 years is that Gators can be quite friendly and rarely bite.
